Mark McClish, expert statement analysist, has been gracious enough to lend this case his time. He's analyzed the bizarre California Department of Justice interviews with lead suspects Martin Smartt and John Boubede, searching for signs of deceptive statements. The results of his analysis of Marty Smartt's interview is found here. More to follow.

Part One is an overview, with the new interview conducted with Sheila Sharp, and features snippets of recently-discovered home movies of the family. In order to better formulate opinions about the veracity of information on the timelines, each entry, where possible, has been updated to reflect the name of LE members credited for the the info/interview(s) responsible. Timeline A does not provide any such information, and the sources on Timeline B are incomplete or too blurry to read, but when found the name(s) are listed with <>s at the end of the entry, as in <Crim>, <Thomas>, etc

Of the eight years we have worked on the Keddie Murders case, none was more prolific and exciting than 2010. Through the persistence and determination of producer Amanda Glover, the Plumas County Sheriff's Office offered their full participation and support in the filming of our second documentary, Cabin 28: The Keddie Murders Part II. Shot from April through late August, the documentary provides insight into the case like never before, concluding with a detailed confession to the murders.
As Part II neared the end of production, one employee of the PCSO attempted to stop its release, fearful that the sheriff's office would not get "credit" for the exhaustive legwork the filmmakers themselves had done. However, with the unwavering support of the Sharp family and Sheriff Greg Hagwood, the DVD was released in October to a wide and ever-expanding audience.
With a bustling online community, including the aggressive forum hosted here and popular pages on Facebook and YouTube, there now appears to be more heartfelt interest in this unsolved case than at any time since the crimes occurred over thirty years ago. Interest from other media outlets is also peaking, and details of these events will be posted here as soon as they are known.
Despite these triumphs, there have been some bewildering setbacks as well. Though the Vidocq Society responded positively to Sheila Sharp's request for assistance in the case, the PCSO has yet to take advantage of Vidocq's interest; similarly, plans to regroup the original technicians to analyze remaining DNA evidence have crumbled. A planned newspaper article in the Feather River Bulletin has yet to materialize, and the filmmakers still regularly receive anonymous e-mails threatening their lives and the lives of their families if they continue to pursue the case.
With the start of a new chapter in this quest to see justice done, we'd be remiss if we didn't thank all the contributing members to this site and forum, as well as the following: Sheila Sharp, Amanda Glover, Greg Hagwood, Tanya Conner, and Tom Holloran.
Let's continue the discussion of this important case and spread the word in hopes that 2011 might shed some light at the end of the tunnel.
